About the Contributing Writer - Laila Galliston

At first glance, clock repair shop owner, Laila Galliston may seem an unlikely contributing writer for Modern Skeptic Magazine. She’s never had any close brushes with possible cryptids or exhibited any telepathic mental powers, but she is responsible for our Editor-in-Chief’s only true supernatural encounter - love at first sight.

When Laila married Hank and joined the Galliston family, she also joined the Modern Skeptic family. Regular readers are already familiar with Laila; she’s been Hank’s travel companion in many of his first-person features where she showed an adventurous spirit and witty repartee, both impossible to ignore or resist. This issue we’re excited to announce that Laila’s stepping into the spotlight with her first-ever byline—Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin, Inventor of the Mystery Clock (Pg. 3).  Laila combined her professional knowledge of clocks, her love of history, and her desire for the back rubs Hank promised to give her if she contributed an article (Willing and ready to make good on that promise – Ed.). The end result is a thorough and engaging piece that even involves Queen Victoria. We’re sure you’re going to love the read as much as we did!
