  • 1 Sugar cube (or 2 teaspoons sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • 2 1/2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 strip orange peel
  • 1 Maraschino cherry

    ingredients 1 Sugar cube (or 2 teaspoons sugar)
    1 tablespoon water
    2 dashes bitters
    2 1/2 ounces bourbon
    1 strip orange peel
    1 Maraschino cherry
    instructions In the bottom of a chilled old-fashioned glass, add the sugar cube and teaspoon of water. Using a wooden muddler, pulverize the sugar cube breaking up the crystals to create a syrup.  Add 2 dashes bitters. Fill the glass with ice, add the bourbon, and stir well. To garnish, twist the orange peel over the glass and top with a cherry.
