  • 1 cup Small dried black-eyes (soaked in water for 6 hours)
  • 2 cup Water
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 Dried hot pepper (optional)
  • 1 Smoked ham hock
  • 1 Medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 Red bell pepper (chopped)

    ingredients 1 cup Small dried black-eyes (soaked in water for 6 hours)
    instructions Drain the peas.

    ingredients 2 cup Water
    2 Garlic cloves (minced)
    1 Dried hot pepper (optional)
    1 Smoked ham hock
    1 Medium onion (chopped)
    1 Red bell pepper (chopped)salt
    instructions Combine the ingredients in the slow cooker, and then add water to cover ingredients. Cook on low until peas are tender, but still have a bite, between 6 and 9 hours. Remove ham hock and dried pepper, if used. Cut the meat off of the bone of the hock and return meat to slow cooker.
