This simply delicious custard could be called the unofficial dessert of Italy. It originated in Piedmont and it is unclear how the dessert actually came to be. The northern region of Italy is known for it's tasty cream and desserts made with it. Now the popular concoction of milk, sugar, cream and gelatin is serve all throughout the country in a multitude of variations. It can be found with caramel, chocolate or a fruit coulis but most of the time it is accompanied by fresh berries.
