Do you have a favorite American food?  There are so many good ones it's hard to choose.  We picked out a few of our favorites.  Take a look and see if any of them make your cut.

Though the hamburger originated in Germany in the 15th century, it became an American favorite in the late 1880's.  Texas historian Frank Tolbert credits Fletcher Davis with creating and selling the first hamburger sandwich as we know it.  He took his delectable invention with him to the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.  This early version of meat and a bun was discovered later transformed into what we now know as the McDonald's burger.
