Daphne's Beauty Tip: Apples

  • By The Chew Crew
Today we’re celebrating apples and not only are apples great for your health, but they can also improve your skin and make your hair shiny.

Your under-eye skin is the thinnest on your body and that’s why it shows fine lines first.  It’s also why you get dark circles.  To battle this unappealing look Daphne suggests he apple anti-puff eye treatment. The applesauce in the treatment helps de-puff the skin around the eye and keep the swelling down.  The potato helps lighten the area.

Apple and Potato Eyebag Treatment

What You Need:
Unsweetened applesauce
One raw potato
Food processor

How to Make It:
Pulse raw potato in food processor until "smashed". Mix together 2 tablespoons of applesauce with potato, apply directly underneath eye area or place in an old t-shirt to make "pouches" that can fit over your eyes like a teabag.  Keep on for 5-10 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Daphne loves this vinegar.  There are numerous beauty benefits that come along with apple cider vinegar.  It promotes better circulation, gives your skin a healthy glow and can even repair your hair.

Acne Treatment

Apple cider vinegar can help clear up acne.  It removes dull and dry skin. It peels the outer layer away and helps to fade blemishes.  It even cleans pores, removes blackheads and can be used as a toner.

Hair Rinse

Apple cider vinegar stimulates hair follicles and aides in better hair growth. It can treat your dandruff and an itchy scalp and leaves your hair shiny.  Plus, it’s much cheaper to make than buying an apple cider rinse in a pricey salon.

When you use apple cider vinegar you should dilute it in water.  A half a cup of vinegar should be mixed with one quart of water and then you use this to rinse out your hair after you shampoo.
