On today’s Last Bites, the cohosts joke that Carla has southern touretts because her southern accent slips out on occasion, and often times, in an outburst not unlike touretts. When Carla is particularly tired, talking to her mother, or trying to emphasize a point, she finds herself back in her southern ways with an accent to match. Similarly, Clinton, a Long-Island native, slips back into his accent when he returns home to his parent’s house, and Michael, well, he always seems to sport his midwestern accent no matter where he is. Speaking of the midwestern accent, Michael claims that newscasters are sent to the midwest to pick up the accent because it is the most relatable to people across the country.

Do you think the midwestern accent is really the most relatable? Do you think it’s possible for Carla and Clinton to turn their accents on and off depending on where they are?
