A specialty of Mardi Gras, these decadent cakes are dressed for the occasion when dusted in purple, yellow, and green sugar. The braided bread is coated in an irresistible cinnamon-sugar mixture and then frosted with a hefty dose of icing. Ready for a surprise? Hidden inside this sugary confection is a baby figurine. According to tradition, a bean was hidden in this King’s Day cake, and to this day, a surprise is hidden inside for a festive twist!
