Want a quick and easy way to guarantee you won’t get too drunk at your next company party? Take a look at the shape of your glass, which may — at least in part — encourage drinkers to overindulge. The reason, scientists say, is simple: A curved glass interferes with the ability to judge alcohol intake. A straight-sided highball glass causes people to drink slower, while a curvy pint glass causes us to drink faster. Drinking time is slowed almost 60% when an alcoholic beverage is presented in a straight glass compared with a curved glass.

After an epic five-hour tennis match, Andy Murray took his 30-person entourage to New York hotspot Hakkasan and racked up a pretty pricey bill. He arrived at the Chinese diner about half an hour after closing and the staff reopened the joint. The tab ended up at $6,448 and he left a $1,289 tip. Apparently, all Andy had was one lemon soda.

These days it's hard for even celebrities to get reservations at some of New York’s hottest restaurants. Grub Street caught up with 2011 breakout star Elizabeth Olsen and asked her about it. According to the article she usually puts in a request and just hopes to get it.
