Check out Mario’s Potluck Packing Primer so your potluck dishes survive the trek in one piece.
1. Eliminate Wiggle Room
Eliminate any wiggle room when traveling with your potluck dish by using recycled old newspapers to hold your dish in place.
2. Avoid the Car Trunk
Avoid storing food in the trunk. Air does not circulate in the trunk, which puts your food at risk for spoiling earlier than expected.
3. Keep Cool and Carry On
If packing a cooler with ice, salt your ice to prevent it from melting quickly.
4. Finishing Touches
Garnish your dish at your host’s home. Bring everything you will need to finish the dish separate from the dish itself, and complete your garnish at the party.
