Thursday's Tip:
Today is all about our last meals, and no feast would be complete without enjoying a delectable dessert. To be delicious a dessert doesn’t have to be difficult, and nothing is easier than the Italian Affogato. In Italian it means, “drowned” and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. To make the Affogato, simply pour a hot espresso over a healthy scoop of vanilla gelato, and you have a decadent dessert fit for your last supper. Salute!
Wednesday's Tip:
Scented hand towels are instantly refreshing, and the perfect antidote to any messy foods! If you want to make your own follow these simple steps.
Place lavender in cheesecloth and tie with twine. Halve and juice an orange and then pour into simmering water. Steep the lavender in water with the orange for two minutes. Dampen small washcloths with the steaming infused water. Wring out and roll up the towels. Place them onto plate and microwave for thirty seconds before handing out to guests.
Tuesday's Tip:
Try using herbal tea bags, like lemon, mint or even ginger to flavor your soup. Tie them together to make them easy to remove when you're ready to serve your soup.
Monday's Tip:
Beets are in season right now and not only are they healthy, they are cheap as well. An average-sized bunch costs about $2.99. They are full of fiber and iron and they low in calories. So whip up a beet salad for dinner tonight.
As for the tops don't just discard them, they are a great addition to you next spinach dish.
