1. What exactly is the Discuss Page?
It's the best place for ABC fans to chat and read about the hottest topics, tweets and Facebook updates surrounding your favorite shows. The conversation is updated in real time. In other words, it's one big, chatty party!
2. If I'm signed in through Twitter or Facebook, will my comments automatically post there as well?
That's up to you. There's a checkbox that lets you decide whether or not you'd like the comments that you make here to be posted on your other personal social network pages as well.
3. Who decides which topics are covered?
You do! This is your chance to tell the world what you think. Start your own thread or just comment on someone else's thought. We'll also be chiming in to ask your opinion on the hottest topics of the moment. But at the end of the day, this is YOUR place to have your say.
4. When do the discussions take place?
All the time! 24/7! It's the pulse of what's happening this very moment.
5. Do I need to sign up or register for this thing?
You can certainly enjoy the Discuss Page without registering for anything.But if you'd like to comment, you need to sign in through Facebook, Twitter or our personal favorite -- ABC.com! We'd love to hear from you. So if you're not yet registered, SIGN UP HERE
6. If I register at ABC.com, are you going to send my email out to a bunch of strangers?
Absolutely not.
7. Does this cost anything?
Nope.
8. How can I respond to someone else's comment?
It's easy! Just click "Reply" under their comment and say whatever you want to say.
9. Is there a character limit?
Only if you choose to share your comment on Twitter. If you sign in through your Twitter account and check the "Share on Twitter" box, you'll see how many characters your comment is as you type it. When your comment posts to Twitter, it will display only the first 140 characters.
10. I see photos of people on the threads. What if I don't want my picture posted?
The pictures you see are based on the restrictions you've set up on your personal social network sites.
If you log in through Twitter and post a comment, your Twitter avatar will display.
If you log in through Facebook and post a comment, your Facebook avatar will display depending on your Facebook account settings. Your Facebook avatar will display only if you've set your personal Facebook settings to display it publicly.
If you log in through ABC.com, we'll just plop in a generic logo where you might typically see someone's photo.
11. Are the discussions monitored?
We always have someone looking out for inappropriate comments. You also have the ability to let us know if something sounds sketchy by flagging a comment.
12. What if I'm only interested in a few topics?
You have the ability to choose the subject that interests you most. You can filter discussion feeds by clicking on the various tabs that are categorized by topics, stars, social networks, hashtags and more. Or you can just soak EVERYTHING in.
13. Will any celebrities be part of the discussion?
Yes, we'll be displaying the official Twitter accounts of many of our stars, and we may have special guests doing Live Chats and Live Tweets from time to time!
14. Will there be Spoiler Alerts?
Yes, we'll pop up a "Spoiler Alert" message as soon as you land on the Discuss page if the current discussion could ruin some surprises. The good news is that when you do finally catch up and come back, all the top topics will still be waiting for you.
15. What are the # symbols and how can I make one?
Hashtags, or # symbols, are used before relevant keywords to organize your comments into categories on Twitter. All you have to do is add a # symbol before the word you'd like tagged to be part of that specific conversation. For example: I love #thechew
