What is there to say about Scott Strauss that hasn’t already been said?  Two autobiographies, as yet unpublished, have been written about him.  They chronicle in excruciating detail his perfect jaw line, Adonis-like figure, and global awareness.  They also delve into his, well… there’s not much else to say about the guy.  He’s handsome, he’s been to Africa, that’s it.  
 
It’s not surprising that Scott would shine in Chatswin.  He left the bubble and came back with tales of an exotic land.  One year abroad, however, does not an interesting person make.  There has to be more under the surface.  Well, there has to be more under the surface if you’re going to be interesting outside of Chatswin.  Now, I admit that I was swept up by Scott like everyone else.   He’s the closest thing to my old life that I’ve been able to find since I moved here… and he’s really hot.  That doesn’t make dating him right.  But it does make it understandable.
 
And at least I came to my senses.  The goat made breaking up more difficult -- he put some serious effort into tracking that thing down on such short notice -- but I followed through and have no regrets.  In fact, I’m glad for the experience.  It taught me that looks and a trip to Zambia aren’t everything.  He needs to like dogs, too.
