Lindsay Dwyer's boyfriend, Jesse Tyler, was a software engineer at Cytron, a computer company owned by Doyle Energy, who offered to rig voting machines for money. With unanimous agreement of the five conspirators, Hollis Doyle took Jesse up on his offer, paying him to insert memory cards with rigged voting software into new voting machines in Defiance, Ohio. The rigged machines were enough to give Fitz the presidency, narrowly defeating his opponent by just a few thousand votes.
