Emily and Aiden’s relationship has had its ups and downs….with the emphasis on downs. Emily and Aiden first met while Emily was on a mission for Takeda. Emily interfered with Aiden’s plan to exact revenge on the men responsible for forcing his sister into a life of prostitution. A large fight broke out shortly thereafter where Aiden shot and killed Dmitri, the man whom Aiden felt was responsible for what happened to his sister. In the aftermath, Takeda agreed to train him in the art of revenge just as he had trained Emily.
While at revenge school, a romance blossomed between these two students. This was not the most ideal of places, but people in constant contact eventually develop a bond, and in this case the bond turned romantic. Aiden soon learned that his sister might still be alive and he needed to go as soon as possible if there was any chance to rescue her. A plan was made for him and Emily to go together, but Aiden had no intention of bringing his girlfriend along for the ride. This was a mission Aiden needed to do alone. Emily was completely heartbroken and became cold to the idea of love until the day she met Daniel.
Fast forward to season two. Emily’s relationship with Daniel was on the rocks and Emily learned that her mother may still be alive. She returned to training at revenge school with Takeda to brush up on some skills that have been lacking as of late. It was like old times, Emily was back in training alongside Aiden, the only difference this time is that she despised him. After she completed her refresh of training, Emily headed back to the Hamptons to continue her plan. Takeda ordered Aiden to follow and aid her (whether she liked it or not). He came in particularly handy in two instances 1) when he saved Emily from certain death at the hands of the white-haired man and 2) when he found Emily’s long lost mother. Emily’s anger toward Aiden eventually diminished and they seemed to be a couple again…for the moment at least.
Like many relationships, Emily and Aiden originally became close because they could truly relate to each other. They both had family members that were hurt by powerful, seemingly untouchable people. What happened with their relationship is that the thirst for vengeance overcame the love they had for each other. When will enough be enough and these two finally live in peace together?
