When Emily was just a child, Victoria and David Clarke became entangled in an affair. This was not a lustful relationship, rather David truly loved Victoria and vice versa. The problem was the only thing Victoria loved more than David was her station in life. Victoria and Conrad became entangled with the terrorist organization that downed Flight 193 and killed everyone on board. Not wanting to go to jail, Victoria and Conrad pinned the crime on David Clarke.
