Marta's younger sister, Kat has been completely kept out of “the life.” Which makes sense given she runs a yoga studio while supporting her starving artist husband Jay. That begins to change though when Marta enlists Kat as her confidant when she starts working with Schiller. Kat suddenly finds herself playing the role of nascent consigliere to Marta, while trying to keep Agent Ramos at bay, which proves complicated as Kat finds herself attracted to Ramos.
Jaime Ray Newman originally hails from Detroit, Michigan. She studied acting at Boston University School for the Arts and earned her BA at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
On television Newman starred on the ABC series Eastwick, based on The Witches of Eastwick. She has recurred on many shows, including Grimm, NCIS, CSI:NY (as Gary Sinise's wife), Eureka, Drop Dead Diva, Veronica Mars and Nip/Tuck.
Film credits include Catch Me If You Can, Rubberneck, the upcoming indie Red Robin, opposite Judd Hirsch, as well as the remake of Tarzan, to be released November 2013.
Last year Newman made her Off-Broadway debut at The Atlantic Theater Company in New York City, starring in David Auburn's (Proof) play, The New York Idea. In Los Angeles she has done several plays at the Geffen Theater, including Some Girls, written and directed by Neil LaBute, and starred opposite David Schwimmer in Turnaround at the Coast Playhouse.
Newman lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Guy Nattiv.
