Just like many distraught citizens of Storybrooke, Ashley made a deal with Mr. Gold that she would later regret. After getting pregnant with her boyfriend, Sean’s, baby, and with his father refusing to let Sean help support her, Ashley had no choice but to sell her unborn child to Mr. Gold. But, after talking to Emma Swan, Ashley:

- Broke into Mr. Gold’s pawn shop and steal the contract she signed
- Assaulted Mr. Gold with pepper spray during the break-in

In the end, Ms. Swan was able to smooth things over with Mr. Gold and to get him to allow Ashley to renege on their contract in exchange for “a favor.” This “favor” has yet to be cashed in, but chances are it won’t be strictly legal, whatever Gold decides to ask for.
