It’s no mystery to the citizens of Storybrooke that Sidney is in Mayor Mills’ pocket, yet he runs the local newspaper, The Daily Mirror, without any objections. He even ran against Emma Swan for the position of town Sheriff! But this member of the press doesn’t have clean hands, either. Some of the crimes he’s committed so far include:

- Spying on local citizens for the Mayor
- Illegally procuring Emma Swan’s sealed criminal records
- Cutting the brake line on the Sheriff’s patrol car—a government vehicle!
- Assisting Emma Swan in the break-in at Mayor Mills’ office and stealing confidential city plans

Surely there’s even more dirt on this crooked columnist, but as good as Sidney is at finding others’ secrets, he’s even better at hiding his own. Needless to say, he’ll do whatever Mayor Mills asks of him, no matter how illegal.
