Prince Charming isn’t really named “Charming.” Everyone knows that. His real name is James—except it’s not. The real Prince James, Charming’s twin brother, was killed, leaving King George in desperate need of another heir in order to slay a dragon and secure his kingdom a windfall from King Midas. Rumplestiltskin plucked James’ twin, a shepherd, from obscurity and King George made him an offer he couldn’t refuse—play the part of his son and marry Midas’ daughter, or he and his mother will die.
Charming had no choice but to agree, but when he met a renegade Snow White, he fell in love. Defying King George, he fought time and again to find his true love, always being torn away from her by his “father” or The Evil Queen. King George wants Charming dead for his defiance and Charming wants to overthrow his adopted father to free the realm.
