The King with the Golden Touch, King Midas was able to turn anything to gold just by touching his flesh to it. While this was obviously a boon to the wealth of his kingdom, it also kept him from having real physical contact with anyone. In fact, he once turned one of his own brave knights, Frederick, into gold by accidentally touching him whilst being defended from an attack.
