Snow White’s father, the King, lay dead, and unbeknownst to Snow, her own stepmother, the Queen, was responsible. With the King dead, the Evil Queen searched for a heartless killer to assassinate the Princess for her. She found The Huntsman—a man raised by wolves and a calculating killer. In exchange for outlawing the hunting of wolves in her kingdom, The Huntsman agreed to carve out Snow White’s heart. But when Snow’s compassion defied his view of humanity, he spared her, telling her to run and hide from the Queen, and tried to pass off the heart of a stag for hers. The Queen discovered The Huntsman’s deceit and took his heart instead, keeping him as a pet for her own uses.
