After a very mysterious opening featuring a stranger in New York City, we find ourselves back in Storybrooke as the magic cloud dissipates. There’s a lovely, tearful reunion as everyone recognizes each other for the first time in over 28 years. It’s a little bit weird for Emma, who not only has to process that fairy tales are real and that Snow White and Prince Charming are her parents, but that they’re all practically the same age. Then the questions start: “If The Curse is broken, why didn’t they all go back to Fairy Tale Land?” and “What the heck was the big, purple cloud?” But before anyone has a chance to answer, a mob forms outside of Regina’s house and they want blood. Emma, Mary Margaret and David are put in the unfortunate position of defending their greatest enemy from the people of the town. Eventually, Regina is locked up in the Sheriff’s Station, for her and everyone else’s safety.
