After taking some time, Kathryn returns to Regina and tells her that she's still heading to Boston and a new life. She shows Regina one of the photos of David and Mary Margaret and tells Regina that she wants to find love like that, and she's never had it with David. She left him a letter telling him that the two of them should be together and she heads out of town. Regina, using a large keyring full of keys, enters David and Kathryn's home while they're both gone and takes the letter. She burns it later in her office—we even see a tell-tale can of red spray paint in her desk drawer as she pulls out the lighter. On the road headed out of town, a local man who looks just like Frederick from FTL, drives up to Kathryn's car parked eschew on the side of the road. He takes a look inside and sees that the airbag has deployed, but the driver is gone! What happened to Kathryn?
