Emma is wracking her brain looking for a way to find those kids’ father when Henry shows up at the Sheriff’s station to finally ask her about his own. She tells him about how his father was a fireman who died saving a family from a burning building and when Henry asks if she has a keepsake of him, that gives her an idea. Ava is able to give Emma a compass that her mother said had belonged to their father. After a little creepy help from Mr. Gold, Emma tracks down Michael, a mechanic who recognizes the compass and admits to sleeping with the kids’ mother one time 12 years ago. The kids are definitely his, but he just isn’t ready to be a father.
