In the world of Fairy Tales, Jiminy's parents have decided to run the old Elf Tonic scam. It basically involves selling a phial of rain water to some rubes who they convince it's a cure for plague. Jiminy reluctantly helps one more time, and a kind, unfortunate couple end up trading a bunch of their stuff to Jiminy and his parents for the "Elf Tonic." Outside, Jiminy's finally had enough. He pulls out Rumplestiltskin's potion and SPLASH! But nothing happens. His father switched Jiminy's potion with the "Elf Tonic," which means those two people really did get a magic potion, just not a good one. To Jiminy's horror, the young husband and wife drank the potion and were turned into two super-creepy puppets! And to make things even worse, the couple's young son, Gepetto, comes home to find out he's an orphan now, and it's Jiminy's fault. In the end, Jiminy does finally get away from his parents when he wishes upon a star and the Blue Fairy turns him into the cricket we know and love so that he can find and help Gepetto.
