With Mary Margaret saved, Regina turns her attention to Emma. She simply has to get rid of this threat to both her relationship with Henry and The Curse. She calls upon Jefferson (The Mad Hatter), one of the few people in Storybrooke who knows the truth. The two of them have worked together before in Fairy Tale Land using his magical, transportative hat, but the last time didn’t end so well with Regina betraying him in Wonderland. Now she offers to reunite him with his daughter in Storybrooke if he can get his hat working long enough to help her retrieve the poison apple from Fairy Tale Land. He agrees and she sacrifices her last magical memento of her true love, Daniel, in order to get the hat working long enough for the apple to be pulled back through. Once she has it, she bakes it into an apple turnover and gives it to Emma, despite the fact that she was planning on leaving Storybrooke.
