Regina, who remembers everything from her life as The Evil Queen, hates Mary Margaret (Snow White) and would do anything to ruin her happiness, including framing her for murder. Mary Margaret and David Nolan (Prince Charming) are having an affair, and when word gets out, David’s wife, Kathryn (Abigail), leaves him. But she disappears on the way out of town. Later, a human heart is found inside of a buried jewelry box. The box, and a bloody fingerprint inside, belongs to Mary Margaret, and the heart is said to be Kathryn’s. Emma, now the Sheriff, is forced to arrest her best friend. Emma even finds a knife hidden in a vent in the apartment she shares with Mary Margaret. All of this is an elaborate plot Regina concocted, using help from Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin) and a set of magical keys that can open any door in Storybrooke. But Mr. Gold finds a creative way of sabotaging the plot without breaking his latest bargain with Regina by letting Kathryn Nolan free on the eve of Mary Margaret’s trial for her murder. The charges are dropped and Regina’s greatest enemy is saved.
