Henry lives in Storybrooke, Maine with his adoptive mother, Regina Mills, who is the Mayor as well as being The Evil Queen from Fairy Tale Land. Henry’s teacher, Mary Margaret (Snow White), gives Henry a book of fairy tales and he soon begins to believe that the stories in it apply to everyone in town. Convinced that he lives in the place where The Evil Queen has banished all of Fairy Tale Land with no memory of their true selves, he runs to Boston to find the one person who can help—his birth mother, Emma Swan. He shows up at her door and, while she doesn’t believe in any of what Henry’s saying, does agree to drive him back. Once she’s in Storybrooke, Henry convinces her to stay, at least for a while.
