When we first meet David Nolan (Prince Charming), he’s in a coma in Storybrooke hospital and nobody knows his name. He’s been there, unclaimed, for as long as anyone can remember. Mary Margaret (Snow White), a local schoolteacher, volunteers at the hospital and likes talking and reading to him. One day, Henry convinces her to read the story of how Snow White and Prince Charming first met from his fairy tale book, and somehow the story gets through to him. He touches her hand! Later, he disappears from the hospital entirely. Mary Margaret, Henry, Emma and Sheriff Graham (The Huntsman) track him down and bring him back safely where Regina reveals she knows who he is and that he’s married to a woman named Kathryn (Abigail). David doesn’t remember much of anything, but Mary Margaret is sad to learn that the man she had hopes of romancing is actually married.
