2005: Jason and Alan confronted A.J. about his crimes, and in the altercation, A.J. attempted to shoot Jason but instead shot his own father! A.J. also had his back broken in the fight. In the hospital, A.J. met his end while in his hospital bed. People thought Michael may have done his own dad in, but the truth was revealed that Dr. Asher Thomas did the killing, as part of a blackmail scheme gone wrong.
