The over-the-top villainy of Cesar Faison has been unleashed in Port Charles once again. With his sights set once again on Anna Devane, Faison has done the seemingly impossible and assumed the identity of the presumed-dead Duke Lavery. If you started watching General Hospital in the years after Faison has left the show, you might want a bit of backstory on the man who strikes fear into the hearts of many. Here's a little catch-up.

Cesar Faison started out on General Hospital as your everyday international crime lord and terrorist. On the other side of the law was Anna Devane, WSB agent and infiltrator of Faison's organization. While Anna worked to take him down, Faison became infatuated with her. She agreed to an engagement, if only to gather more evidence against him. But when the engagement broke and Anna went on to marry Robert Scorpio, Faison sought his revenge. After several kidnapping attempts -- including taking Anna and her daughter Robin together -- Faison rigged a boat with explosives and, with Anna and Robert onboard with him, blew it to pieces. All three were presumed dead.

In the late 1990s, Faison returned to help Helena Cassadine in her plot to take down the Spencers. Faison and Helena faked Lucky Spencer's death, kidnapped him, and brainwashed him to be loyal to Helena over his own family. This brainwashing also erased all feelings Lucky had for Elizabeth Webber, which ultimately robbed the two lovers of much time they could have been together. Luke eventually got Lucky back, but before the police (led now by Robert's brother Mac Scorpio) could catch Faison, he boarded a boat which -- you guessed it -- blew up.

Now, Faison is back once again. Back to his old methods, including kidnapping and deception. He's faked Robin's death and is holding her AND Duke Lavery captive, all while impersonating Duke in an effort to once again be with the object of his obsession, Anna Devane. Will he succeed this time? Not if Robert Scorpio can help it.
