Cook, ???? - 2012
The Port Charles pathogen claimed an important and ... well, "beloved" would be the wrong word, but a
formidable victim today. As Monica informed Tracy, the longrunning offscreen character Cook was sent to that well-appointed kitchen in the sky.
We first remember hearing about Cook in the early 1990s, as she graced the Quartermaine mansion with her superior cuisine while at the same time terrorizing them with her terrifying attitude. If Cook had one rule over all others -- and Cook had MANY rules -- it was that no Quartermaine was EVER allowed in her kitchen. Though we recall an exception made for Emily, but only when she was a small child. She was never seen by
GH viewers, but only the mention of her name (or was "Cook" merely her title? she remained a mystery 'til the end) drew shivers. Edward Quartermaine was never afraid of anyone, but he was surely wary of Cook. And with good reason!
Cook leaves behind a legacy of superlative meals and strict order. If she had one regret, it was likely that she was never able to put out a successful Thanksgiving dinner.
So rest in peace, (not so) sweet Cook. May you never have to resort to ordering pizza in heaven.
