Atlanta motorcycle cop Glenn Turner has a flu that he just can’t seem to shake. He heads to the ER where they give him fluids and he seems to be recovering. But the next day, his wife Lynn finds him dead in their bed. The official cause of death is heart failure. Glenn’s friends and family are devastated. How could this have happened to a strapping 31-year old guy? Lynn is in shock. All she has left of the man she loved is his life insurance and his pension – how could that ever make up for what she’s lost?
When Glenn Turner met Lynn Womack sparks flew. Glenn was a rookie cop enjoying his work-hard play-hard lifestyle with his tight circle of friends on the Force. Lynn was a hot ticket. She loved NASCAR as much as Glenn did, she knew her way around a car engine, she even rode motorcycles. And all of that was packed into a body that turned heads at every party she walked into. Lynn could also be a little wild, but Glenn decided that the only way to tame her – and her hot temper - was to marry her. They hadn’t even celebrated their first anniversary before Glenn confided in his friends that he was miserable. When his friends admitted that they’d always had doubts about Lynn, Glenn decided it was time to end the marriage. But before he could take any official steps, Glenn died.
Within a year, Lynn remarries and falls out of touch with Glenn’s buddies and family. She marries Atlanta firefighter, Randy Thompson, and with the birth of their third child, seems to have moved on. But five years later, when Randy dies suddenly of heart failure after a bout with the flu, Glenn’s friends become suspicious. This can’t be a coincidence.
With the help of Glenn’s mother, who joins forces with Randy’s family, the Atlanta authorities are compelled to re-open the case and investigate the possibility that neither Glenn nor Randy died of heart attacks AND that they were, in fact, the victims of murder.
