Starting Weight: 400
Overweight for as long as he can remember, Tony attributes his nutritionally unhealthy lifestyle and food addiction to his unstable family life throughout his childhood. From the time he was 14, he supported himself by shoveling snow and working at a local fast food restaurant. He would overeat at work because he never knew where his next meal would come from. At 21, he and his first wife had a severely handicapped child, and those stresses pushed him towards food for comfort. He rose through the ranks to a 30-year career in food service management, but quit when he decided his weight had gotten out of control.
Tony is now 49, jobless and divorced, and his weight is teetering at the 400-lb. mark. He wants to have a healthier future in time for his 50th birthday and upcoming wedding to his fiancée. At the start of his year-long transformation, Tony learns from Dr. Terry Schaack at the California Health and Longevity Institute that, since he carries the majority of his fat on his abdomen, he is at high risk for a variety of cardiovascular complications. With Tony's health at stake, trainer and transformation specialist Chris Powell works with him to undo all the years of unhealthy living that brought him to this point. However, the road to health is rougher than Chris had anticipated for his client. During his 12-month journey, Tony faces homelessness, the unexpected death of a beloved family member and a change in his engagement, all while taking on the race of his life to regain his health. Let's go Tony!
