Parris Goebel grew up in New Zealand. She always loved to dance, but was a self-described "terrible dancer". She attempted dance classes, but just was not the right fit. So instead of taking classes, Parris taught herself how to dance, developing a new, unique hip-hop style called "polyswagg".
When she was fifteen years old, she put together her own dance company, The ReQuest Crew. Soon thereafter, she and her crew were competing on the Worldwide stage. In 2010, Parris' crew was named the number one Adult Hip Hop Crew in the World at the World Hip Hop Championships. In 2012, she was named World of Dance Female Choreographer of the year. This recognition did not go unnoticed for long as she garnered interest from superstar, Jennifer Lopez – she asked Parris to perform with her and even choreograph a number for her tour.
Parris is now one of the hottest choreographers in the dance world, despite the fact that she just turned 21 years old. She is choreographing numbers for the new Michael Jackson Cirque De Soleil show at Mandalay Bay in 2013 and just put together a music video for Missy Elliot.
She is the perfect example of having a dream and not giving up, no matter how many people tell you that it is impossible. For Season 15's final AT&T Spotlight Performance on DWTS, Parris is bringing her ReQuest Crew from New Zealand and putting together a performance of the likes that has never been seen on our stage!
