Michaela DePrince
Michaela DePrince was born in Sierra Leone. Her parents were killed in the conflicts there when she was three. She ended up at an orphanage - and then a refugee camp when the orphanage was raided. Eventually, she was adopted by an American woman. Michaela had always wanted to dance, but never had the opportunity. When she came to the states, her mother enrolled her in ballet classes and she has danced ever since. Recently, Michaela won second place at the Youth America Grand Prix and is now hoping to become a principal in a ballet company. Michaela will be dancing with Ade Chike Torbert who competed on So You Think You Can Dance.
