Zendaya
Q. Why did you want to do the show?
A. I've grown up watching Dancing with the Stars. It is my grandmother's favorite show, and she has viewing parties at her house. Dance is a passion of mine, so this is a great opportunity. I'd really like to explore other styles of dance beyond what I know, which is hip-hop. Interestingly enough, I've also danced the hula. I am fiercely competitive, so a competition around dance is perfect for me. I definitely want to win.
Q. Which dance style do you think is most "you"?
A. I would say the Salsa because my dad and I have always danced the Salsa together. It's kind of like our father and daughter thing that we do.
Q. What do you think is your biggest handicap to overcome if you’re going to win?
A. I am a Virgo, which means that I am a perfectionist and tend to be very hard on myself. I want to get everything perfect. Being judged might be difficult for me as well. Also, because I'm still in high school it's going to be a challenge to balance all the work that this will take on top of all my schoolwork, and still have time to be well, you know, a teenager.
Q. Do you have a "dancing" hero (pro dancer or other dancing star). Are any former DWTS stars an inspiration to you?
A. My dancing icon would definitely be Michael Jackson. A previous DWTS contestant who inspired me was of course, my TV brother Roshon. I watched and voted for him every night of the show.
Q. Is there a particular dance/dance style that you most fear?
A. I'm terrified of the one they dance very quickly...I think they call it the quickstep or the foxtrot, where you have to move your feet so quickly.
