![For the first time ever, the "Contemporary" dance style was performed as part of the competition. Kelly and Val brought true emotional storytelling to the dance floor with their routine to "Fix You," by Coldplay, and it paid off. Kelly remarked during rehearsals, "[Val's] teaching me how to trust again...it's kind of amazing."

During Guilty Pleasures week, Kelly and Val danced a Samba to "Want U Back" by Cher Lloyd. Kelly was nervous in rehearsals and struggled to learn the choreography. Unfortunately, this was apparent in the ballroom as her scores fell from prior weeks, and in fact, the pair landed at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Carrie Ann stated, "This week I thought you were uncertain...your upper body was tense. It wasn't your best..."
