![For the first time ever, the "Contemporary" dance style was performed as part of the competition. Kelly and Val brought true emotional storytelling to the dance floor with their routine to "Fix You," by Coldplay, and it paid off. Kelly remarked during rehearsals, "[Val's] teaching me how to trust again...it's kind of amazing."

It had been quite a hiatus since the DWTS Season 1 winner Kelly Monaco had been in the ballroom. She was ready to put on her dancing shoes again and have a new partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy for the All-Star Season. The pair's chemistry was noticeable from the beginning as they danced a Cha Cha to "Bang Bang" by David Sanborn for Week 1.

Bruno: 7.5
Even Len, who is generally reserved, was impressed: "You weren't this good Season 1. Something's happened here. I thought the choreography was terrific and suited Kelly. I loved it...well done."
