![For the first time ever, the "Contemporary" dance style was performed as part of the competition. Kelly and Val brought true emotional storytelling to the dance floor with their routine to "Fix You," by Coldplay, and it paid off. Kelly remarked during rehearsals, "[Val's] teaching me how to trust again...it's kind of amazing."

During Week 7, it was Dance Fusion Night and the All-Star couples were challenged to perform two distinct dance styles as one combined performance. Emmitt and Cheryl danced a "Rumba/Samba" to "Fine by Me" by Andy Grammer. Maybe it was the prior week's Samba performance that helped Emmitt get the hip rolling movements down for this combo dance.

Len: 9.5
Bruno: 9.5
Len paid Emmitt a great compliment, telling him, "I don't think I could have done it as good as that."
