![For the first time ever, the "Contemporary" dance style was performed as part of the competition. Kelly and Val brought true emotional storytelling to the dance floor with their routine to "Fix You," by Coldplay, and it paid off. Kelly remarked during rehearsals, "[Val's] teaching me how to trust again...it's kind of amazing."

Emmit and Cheryl chose to dance a Samba to "Copacabana (At the Copa)" by Barry Manilow for their Guilty Pleasure song. Emmitt's hips never stopped moving during the high energy dance and the judges were impressed, awarding him his first 10 of the season.

Bruno raved, "You deliver maximum pleasure. The Samba is actually very, very difficult. You make it look easy."
