![For the first time ever, the "Contemporary" dance style was performed as part of the competition. Kelly and Val brought true emotional storytelling to the dance floor with their routine to "Fix You," by Coldplay, and it paid off. Kelly remarked during rehearsals, "[Val's] teaching me how to trust again...it's kind of amazing."

Week 7 was Dance Fusion Night -- the first time this had happened in DWTS history. For the occasion, Apolo decided to do something he hadn't done before: remove his shirt in the ballroom! He and Karina performed a "Cha Cha/Paso Doble" to "Scream" by Usher and received solid 9's from the judges.

Len was impressed with the dance: "There was nothing safe about this. You came out and really attacked this...Apolo Ohno, I'm saying Apolo oh, yes."
