![For the first time ever, the "Contemporary" dance style was performed as part of the competition. Kelly and Val brought true emotional storytelling to the dance floor with their routine to "Fix You," by Coldplay, and it paid off. Kelly remarked during rehearsals, "[Val's] teaching me how to trust again...it's kind of amazing."

Apolo kicked off the All-Star season with his Cha Cha to "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO. Even though he previously won a Mirror Ball trophy, Apolo was just as determined this season, remarking during rehearsals, "Being an Olympian...I didn't sign up to be second." A total score of 22 placed Apolo and Karina in fourth place out of the 13 All-Stars.

Carrie Ann was wowed by his moves, "Is it just me or did you just get like 3,000 times more sexy...Your hip action threw me over the table..."
