We asked each of our All Stars about the upcoming season, why they chose to return, what their biggest strength is and what it will take to win the Mirror Ball trophy in Season 15! Which star says they will need a miracle? Which star missed the rhinestones and spray tans? Which star says they are a masochist? Most importantly, who's here to win and who wants to have a good time?
5 Questions With..... Emmitt Smith:
1. Why did you want to return to do the All Stars season?
I really enjoyed my DWTS experience in 2006 and when the chance came about to return for an All-Stars show, I couldn’t pass it up. I love to compete in everything I do and testing my skills on the dance floor is no different. I’m a little older now but feel I haven’t lost a step so it will be fun to see where I stand with the rest of the some of the top dancers from the show’s history.
2. What is your biggest strength in this competition?
I feel that my experience and competitiveness are my biggest assets heading into the competition. I’ve successfully performed all the different dances when the stakes have been the greatest, and going into this year’s competition knowing I’ve done it before, and competed until the end, is a big mental edge. And from a competitive standpoint, I’m ready to rise to any challenge. It’s in my blood to compete. When a true competitor hears the drum beat, he has to respond and rise to the challenge.
3. What part of being on the show did you enjoy the most last time?
The thrill of the competition each time we took the dance floor was so energizing, and it was fun to provide a bit of excitement to families around the country. I’ve also enjoyed the time we get to spend behind-the-scenes with all the different celebrities and pro dancers. We are all in the same boat, so it was fun to go through the whole experience as a group and get to know the other competitors.
4. What would you like to do differently this time around?
I just want to get better in every aspect of the competition. I want to strive for better techniques, style, everything --- my competitive edge drives me to keep working towards perfection.
5. What will it take for you to take home this mirror ball this time around?
Everyone on the All-Stars show has been through this experience before and knows what to expect as well as what it takes to be successful. I plan on practicing hard like I did in 2006 and bringing the same energy to the dance floor each and every night. I just hope all my fans, including those from 2006, can rally again as I’m going to need every vote I can get given the other great names in the show. Oh, and I might just need all of the other competitors to break a leg ;-).
