Season 15 | Episode 1506 | Aired 10/29/2012

Strap on the boots and cowboy hats. It’s Country Week! The All-Stars are facing off in a hoedown showdown where their scores will be added to those points accumulated during the previous week. They must also perform some solo moves during their routine and a group dance at the end of the night. Yee-Ha! Let the country dancing begin!

Gilles & Peta: Gilles isn’t afraid show his feminine side as well as lightly smack Peta’s feminine backside in their cha cha to “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.” Len says Gilles gives 100% every time, but there were a few issues with the footwork. Bruno agrees with this, but says Gilles sold this sexy dance and the performance was great. Carrie Ann thought the dance was very creative, but Gilles needs to watch his hands, as he does something weird with them from time to time. She also thanked him for picking her up last week after she fell out of her chair. Scores of 9, 9 and 9.5 gives them a total of 27.5 for this dance and a grand total of 84 when combined with last week’s scores.

Sabrina & Louis: Sabrina does an emotional rumba with Louis to “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes. Bruno says is Sabrina’s solo was seamless in this emotional, fantastic dance. Carrie Ann gives Sabrina a hug because she knows she was dancing from the heart in a routine that gave her chills. Len loved the wonderful choreography and he loved the wonderful dance. Three perfect 10s from the judges gives them a total of 30 for this dance and a grand total of 88.5 when combined with last week’s scores.

Kelly & Valentin: The team is looking to bounce back after having the lowest total score last week with their top notch tango to Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl.” It even ends with a lengthy lip-lock. Carrie Ann says this was a nice comeback. She feels Kelly is an exciting competitor. Len felt it was a little bit hectic on occasions, but overall Kelly kept it under control. Bruno says Carrie Ann was right. Kelly is back in the game big time. Trip 9s gives this team a total of 27 for this dance and a grand total of 78.5 when combined with last week’s scores.

Melissa & Tony: Melissa tries to overcome her fear of hurting her neck even more as she does a lovely, flowing Viennese waltz with Tony. Len stands and applauds before saying Melissa had the how and the wow. Bruno says Melissa got the style beautifully. It was like love in the great outdoors. Carrie Ann says that Melissa has such beautiful lines but she’s not dancing out enough. Bruno takes issue with these comments. He strongly disagrees. Scores of 9.5, 10 and 10 gives them a total of 29.5 for this dance and grand total of 86 when combined with last week’s scores.

Shawn & Derek: Shawn hurt her knee during the group dance rehearsal, so Derek says they may have to change some things for their cha cha. Whatever they did worked well in their fun routine. Bruno says that Shawn was working it in the dance that had incredible synchronized fusion of country and cha cha. Carrie Ann agrees with Bruno on the fusion but felt her solo was a bit stiff. Len liked the choreography but he wants Derek to skip the gimmicks and get to the dancing. Scores of 9.5, 8.5 and 10 gives them a total of 28 for this dance and a grand total of 84.5 when combined with last week’s scores.

Kirstie & Maks: Kirstie had a crazy week, so she has a hard time during rehearsals. She gets it together to do a sweet and sexy rumba with Maks that leaves the crowd cheering. Carrie Ann says Kirstie is the queen of sexy in a passionate rumba. Len thought Kirtie did well in a clean, classy, difficult dance. He would have liked a little more hip action. Bruno things Kirstie’s arms are so expressive and her solo was spot on. Scores of 9.5, 8.5 and 9.5 gives them a total of 27.5 for their dance and a grand total of 80 when combined with last week’s scores. Kirstie and Maks also get two additional bonus points for standing out during the group dance. It brings their new grand total up to 82.

Apolo & Karina: Apolo and Karina admit they had an off-camera fight that may have affected their routine last week. They come back strong this week with a lovely Viennese Waltz. Len says the dance was light with great musicality. It was two people in perfect harmony. Bruno says Apolo’s involvement with Karina was the best he’s ever seen. Carrie Ann thought it was mesmerizing poetry in motion. Scores of 10, 10 and 10 gives them a perfect 30 for this dance and a grand total of 86.5 when combined with last week’s scores.

Emmitt & Cheryl: Emmitt is a little nervous about doing a solo routine to such a semi-slow song like “Islands in the Stream” as he and Cheryl perform their foxtrot. Still, he kicks things up with style when he takes to the stage by himself. Bruno loves how Emmitt has fun with the dance. Carrie Ann says he and Cheryl were off in their timing but he came back nicely with the solo. Len thought the dance lacked some finesse, but it was still entertaining. Scores of 8.5, 8.5 and 9.5 give 26.5 for this dance and a grand total of 82.5 when combined with last week’s scores.
