The All-Stars were challenged to be the creative directors of some of the most iconic dances ever done on Dancing with the Stars. Let’s see how they made out.

Drew & Anna: This team chose the very first dance from the very first season for their iconic dance. Wind machines help kick up a storm of sexy dancing as Drew and Anna do their hot cha cha. Len felt they had great balance as well as terrific content. Bruno made a comparison between Drew and Channing Tatum in Magic Mike. Carrie Ann loved the sexy Anna that Drew brought out. Trip 8s gives them a score of 24 which is their highest of the season to date.

Gilles & Peta: The team chose to do the tango done by Erin and Maks in Season 10. Gilles begins the dance by being suspended high above the ballroom floor. He eventually lands in Peta’s arms to twist and turn before landing in a big bed. Bruno thought it was a strong, dominant dance but Gilles lost his footing a few times. Carrie Ann says he’s so good at the drama but they were a little out of sync. Len thought the footwork could have been better but he liked the menace of the dance. Three 8.5s gives them a total of 25.5 for the night.

Melissa & Tony: The team planned to take some major chances during rehearsals as they tackle an iconic samba to the tune of “Conga.” The routine ends with some fancy legwork and a lot of streamers. Carrie Ann thought everything was fantastic in a stellar routine. Len thought it was busy, refreshing and satisfying. Bruno thought each step was more complicated than the others and they did them all like stars. Trip 9s gives them a total of 27 for the night and the high score for the season so far.

Apolo & Karina: Karina starts out the dance in statue form before coming to life and falling into Apolo’s arms as they do a fine foxtrot to “Fever.” This is something Gilles did during his season. Len says there was a fluidity of music though he would have liked a tad more in holds. Still, he thought it was great overall. Bruno said it was classy but felt Apolo tensed at times. Carrie Ann feels like this will be one of those memorable dances that will live on for a long time. 9, 8 and 8.5 gives them a score of 25.5 for the night.

Kelly & Valentin: Kelly picked the paso doble done by her partner’s brother, Maks, in a past season. There are some mad matador moments in the slick, hot routine that ends with flames shooting skyward in the background. The crowd goes wild. Bruno says this was a defining performance and he’s tingling with pleasure. Carrie Ann says they are the couple to watch as there’s something magical happening. Len wants to know where that fabulous dance came from. Trip 9s gives them a total of 27 and a tie for high score of the night.

Kirstie & Maks: Kirstie picked Carson Kressley’s cha cha where he had some “Moves Like Jagger” for her iconic dance. As you may have guessed, this forced Maks to channel his inner Mick. Just call him Maks Jagger. Carrie Ann thought it was the most fun she had all night and this was Kirstie’s best dance of the season. Len thought it was the whole package. Bruno thought Maks looked like an extra from Boogie Nights and agrees this was the most fun he’s had all season. Trip 8s gives them a total of 24 and their highest score of the season.

Sabrina & Louis: Sabrina and Louis turn up the heat with their hot paso doble with some slick moves, high kicks and a fantastic finish. Len felt it was full of risks as well as great technique. Bruno thought there was maximum firepower from a woman who is such a good dancer. Carrie Ann, however, felt that while there was outstanding dancing in the routine there was nothing surprising. This draws the ire of the crowd. 8.5, 8.5 and 8.5 gives them a total of 25.5 for the night

Emmitt & Cheryl: The paso doble is again an iconic dance choice. This time, Emmitt and Cheryl are the ones kicking things up on the dance floor. The routine ends with Emmitt doing a super long slide across the dance floor through Cheryl’s legs. Bruno felt he really got the flavor of the dance. He just needs to watch his shoulders. Carrie Ann says Emmitt is a human torpedo and is back in the game. Len says Emmitt has presence and likes how he attacks the floor, but felt the routine lacked a bit of finesse. 8.5, 8 and 8.5 gives them a total of 25 for the night.

Helio & Chelsie: Helio chooses a quickstep done by one of his current competitors, Apolo Anton Ohno, for his iconic dance. He dons a pinstripe to do some Big Bad Voodoo Daddy moves with Chelsie. Carrie Ann thinks Helio is the quickstep king but he did get caught in Chelsie’s dress. Len says the he deserves to be back next week even with the issue they had. Bruno thought the dance was great until the dress miscue. 8.5, 8.5 and 8.5 gives them a 25.5 for the night.

Bristol & Mark: It was an awkward rehearsal week for this team. Bristol broke down in tears feeling like Mark maybe feels like he got stuck with her as a partner when he could have had Sabrina or Shawn. Mark tries to assure her that’s not the case. They regroup to hit a dance floor that looks like a chess board as they make their moves to across the squares. Len thought there was plenty of attack in what was easily Bristol’s best dance. Bruno felt her lines were better than ever. Carrie Ann says that Bristol is proving herself to be a worthy competitor. 7.5, 7.5 and 7.5 gives them at total of 22.5 for their highest score so far.

Shawn & Derek: Shawn and Derek finish off the night with a rockin’ quickstep to Royal Crown Revenue’s “Hey Pachuco.” They bounce, they spin and they fly all over the ballroom before falling off the stairs into the band pit. The crowd loves it. Bruno calls them the Incredibles and feels it may be the best dance he’s ever seen. It gave Carrie Ann happy feet. Although they broke the rules, she also feels it was the best dance she’s seen. Len says that he’s never enjoyed a routine more but must deduct points for breaking the rules. 9, 8, 9.5 gives them a score of 26.5 for the night.

On the Results Show, the teams will be picking the dances for their competitors for the next week. Speaking of next week, Paula Abdul will be in the house as a guest judge. Wonder how Len will compare to Simon.
