It’s a brand new season of Dancing with nothing but All Stars in the house. So, let’s get this dance party started!
Joey & Kym: Singer Joey Fatone is reunited with his former dance partner, Kym Johnson, to do a fast moving Cha Cha that is, for lack of a better phrase, pretty darn in sync. Len loves Joey’s enthusiasm though his posture was a little funny on occasion. Bruno loved the Michael Jackson touches he had but needs to watch his foot placement. Carrie Ann thinks Joey is a fine showman and his dance was a fine way to kick off an all-star season. Utilizing a new scoring system which includes half points, the judges’ scores of 6.5, 7 and 7 gives them a total of 20.5.
Shawn & Derek: Shawn Johnson was partners with Mark Ballas the first time around. Now she's back in the ballroom doing the Foxtrot with new partner Derek Hough. Bruno feels the routine was so fully-loaded that it felt like two dances in one. Carrie Ann thought the routine was the perfect package and she loved it. Len knows that Shawn is a terrific dancer, but was disappointed that the routine didn't feel like a Foxtrot to him. 8, 6.5 and 7.5 gives them a total of 22 for the night.
Sabrina & Louis: The woman who was part of one of the most surprising eliminations in Dancing history is back as Sabrina Bryan does a fine Cha Cha with Louis. Carrie Ann says she is on fire and kicked that dance's booty, but she needs to be careful to not over-dance. Len agrees that Sabrina needs to work on her finesse though he adds that this was his favorite dance of the night. Bruno feels she missed some passes, but he's so glad to have her back. Scores of 7.5, 7.5 and 7.5 gives them a total of 22.5 for the night.
Helio & Chelsie: Season 5 winner Helio Castroneves has a new partner in Chelsie Hightower as they do their smooth, flowing Foxtrot to Marvin Gaye's "Pride and Joy." Len believes the routine was good even though he needs to work on his feet. Bruno feels he messed up a bit, but his charm compensates for that. Carrie Ann agrees that Helio's charisma helps hide any flaws. 7, 7.5 and 7 from the judges gives them a total of 21.5 for the night.
Pamela & Tristan: Pamela Anderson returns to the ballroom with new partner Tristan as they do a Cha Cha that oozes sexy attitude. Bruno says she is a good performer, but there wasn't enough work put into the routine. Carrie Ann says that Pamela was living the drama but needs to have the right technique. Len feels it was a bit shaky, but she didn't fall over. He praises her for getting through it. 5.5, 5.5 and 6 gives them a total of 17 for the night.
Melissa & Tony: These two were partners before. Now Melissa and Tony are together again to do a stylish Foxtrot in their triumphant return to the ballroom. Carrie Ann thinks Melissa has the most exquisite lines but wants more body contact. Len felt it was a bit too theatrical for him, but he still liked it. Bruno agrees with Carrie Ann about the need for more body contact, but overall it was great. Trip 7s gives them a total of 21 for the night
Apolo & Karina: Sporting some truly colorful outfits, Apolo and Karina hit the dance floor to do a rockin' Cha Cha. Len says that in Olympic terms, this was a bronze medal performance that needed more hip action. Bruno felt his extensions of the arms were exquisite. Carrie Ann feels Apolo has gotten 3,000 times sexier. In other words, she liked the dance. Scores of 7.5, 7 and 7.5 gives them a total of 22 for the night.
Gilles & Peta: It's some old-fashioned fun when Gilles and Peta take to the dance floor for their stylish Foxtrot. Bruno loved the old time Hollywood feel of this fine dance. Carrie Ann thought it was poetic and gorgeous. Len liked the balance and sophistication he saw in the routine. He felt they did a terrific job. Trip 8s from the judges gives them a total of 24.
Bristol & Mark: This time around, Mark wants Bristol to shed her shy side from the get-go. She does her best to shake things up during their sexy Cha Cha. Carrie Ann was taken aback. She feels Bristol is the most improved and looked very confident. Len agrees about the confidence, but she needs to get more fluid with her arms. Bruno says she was killing it, but she needs to concentrate on her power and focus. 6.5, 6.5 and 6.5 gives them a total of 19.5 for the night.
Drew & Anna: There was some tough love from Anna for Drew during rehearsals before the two of them hit the dance floor for their fine Foxtrot. Len liked the dance but it was a bit too hard and hectic for him. He needs to soften up a bit. Bruno liked the synchronicity and energy, but he did stiffen up at times. Carrie Ann loved his posture but she wants to see firm, not rigid. 7, 7 and 7.5 gives them a total of 21.5 for the night.
Kelly & Valentin: The first-ever Dancing champ is back as Kelly and Valentin take to the floor to do their sexy Cha Cha. Bruno thought she was a stunner, especially for someone who has never done the Cha Cha before. Carrie Ann says Apolo isn't the only one who got a whole lot sexier. Kelly and Valentin have insane chemistry. Len says Kelly was better than she was in Season 1. He wants her to chill out and not get overexcited, but he loved it. 7, 7 and 7.5 gives them a total of 21.5 for the night.
Kirstie & Maks: One of the most popular couples ever returns to the dance floor in the form of Kirstie and Maks as they do their flowing Foxtrot. Carrie Ann says Kirstie has the most beautiful, sensual quality when she dances, but it wasn't as sharp as it could be. Len says Kirstie has to lift her ribcage more and the quality of movement wasn't superb. Bruno agrees that she needs to focus more on her shoulders, frame and footwork. In other news, Kirstie plants a long kiss on Tom to congratulate him for his recent Emmy win. As for the scores, 6.5, 6 and 6.5 gives them a total of 19 for the night. The very first night of the very first All-Star edition of Dancing with the Stars is in the books. One thing is for certain. The judges and the fans are going to have a tough time picking the best of the best this time around. Still, someone has to go home each and every week beginning with the first Results Show.
