Beckett and Castle introduce their starkly different parents in "After Hours,"and begin to worry that their own relationship won't last because they are from two different worlds. But after pulling together to survive yet another dangerous case, Castle reassures Beckett: "So what if we don't make sense on paper? We don't live our lives on paper. And if we did we'd never be astounded or surprised."
I Know Him
In "Probable Cause," Caskett's new relationship is put to the test when Castle is accused of murder. Though the evidence is damning, Kate never stops believing in Castle's innocence, saying, " “I know him. He is an immature, egotistical, self-centered jackass sometimes, but he’s not this."
Castle and Beckett use all their willpower to ignore each other under the mistletoe hanging up at the precinct in "Secret Santa." Castle is thrilled to share his Christmas traditions with Kate, but she tells him her tradition is to take a shift so another cop can be with his family. In the end, Castle is ready to give up his special night to spend it at the precinct with Kate, but when he opens the door to leave, she's standing their waiting for him. For Caskett, it's time to start making new traditions, together.
None of Them Were You
In "Murder, He Wrote," Caskett's first weekend away together is marred by a dead body -- and Beckett's jealously over the previous women Castle's brought to his beach house. The duo solves the crime (of course!) and Castle assures Beckett that though he's brought other dates there, none of them were her.
Castle tells Beckett they need a cool couple nickname and suggests "Caskett." But as they get used to their new relationship, they know they can't get too comfy together. Their partnership will surely be terminated if the NYPD finds out they're together. In "Murder, He Wrote," Ryan accidentally discovers their secret but doesn't tell anyone -- even his best friend and partner, Esposito.
Castle and Beckett are doing a good job keeping their relationship under wraps, until a documentary crew follows them on a case in "Swan Song." After the cameras catch them sharing a tender moment, Caskett is sure they're in big trouble, since Detective Gates is personally reviewing all the footage. In the end, Gates misses the lovey-dovey moment and Caskett's secret is safe -- at least for now!
It Wasn't a Dream
In "After the Storm," we learn our favorite mystery man and his muse are, indeed, together at last. But how will they keep their new relationship a secret from the boss, their friends, and most of all, Castle's nosy mother, Martha? Time will tell, but for now fans can bask in the glow of Caskett's first morning together.
