Joe Flynn
A wisecracking, hard-drinking, private detective, Joe Flynn has earned a reputation for having a keen eye and a cold heart when it comes to getting the job done. Born and raised in Manhattan, New York, Joe became a ward of the state after his parents were killed during a bank holdup. Upon his 18th birthday, Joe joined the New York Police Department and was a beat cop in Hell’s Kitchen until enlisting in the U.S. Army after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Joe spent the next three years fighting on the Eastern Front until being wounded by a mortar in ‘44. Upon returning from the war, and no longer able to pass NYPD’s physical examination, Joe went into business for himself and became a private eye.
